RIBI Musician of the Year 2018 - Local Round

The local round of RIBI Young Musician of the Year took place at Heathfield School, Ascot last Thursday evening.

Ten young musicians took part in the competition.

There were five vocalists and five instrumentalists. A daunting experience for all of the students to perform in front of an audience of approx. 100 people with four judges sitting directly in front of them! After some deliberation, the judges decided that the winning vocalist was Anastasia Adam from Heathfield School with runner-up Beau Thomas from Charters School. The winning instrumentalist was Sarah Aizawa on violin from Yateley Manor School with runner-up Kian Grayson on drums from LVS.

A very enjoyable evening was had by all attendees and we wish the successful candidates the best of luck in the District Finals in March.

We have to thank Heathfield School once again for hosting this event in such generous and welcoming fashion for Rotary Ascot and Wokingham.
