Charity Golf Day Raises Thousands

On the 6th November The Rotary Club of Wokingham held its annual Charity Golf Day.

19 teams took part in the competition hosted by Windlesham Golf Course –

Following a hearty dinner comedian Keith O’Keefe entertained the golfers and conducted the auction which included major prizes such as holidays, in Austria, South of France and Spain as well as tickets to football matches and the Royal Ascot Racing Club.

Due to the generosity of all those involved over £8,000 was raised. £4000 will be donated to the principle beneficiary, Cycle Smart –

A further £1800 will be presented to the Royal Berks Charity -
contributing towards their Breast Screening Clinic Ultrasound Campaign. 

The balance has been added to our donations fund to be distributed to other local charities and deserving causes.

No money is deducted by way of expenses as Rotary is a volunteer organisation with minimal overheads.
